About Greet Health

A clinic I'd send someone I love.

Greet Health was founded by Matt Michaels, Ph.D., a longtime healthcare leader returning home to Gainesville to build the kind of mental health care he'd choose for his own family.

A note from Matt

Going back to my roots.

Proud to announce I'm starting a mental health clinic in my hometown of Gainesville, Florida.

As a compliance leader and healthcare executive, I've helped start or operate treatment centers across the country. But always for someone else.

Florida · home Georgia New Jersey Rhode Island Indiana Colorado Iowa Texas California Oregon Washington

Now I'm creating one for my community. One where I could see going if I needed help — for myself, or for someone I love.

That's the standard. Everything we do at Greet Health flows from it.

Founder, Greet Health

Returns to Gainesville to build an outpatient mental health clinic rooted in transparency, evidence, and the standard he'd want for his own family.

The principles that shape every visit.

None of these are slogans. They're the things we'd want a clinic to do — and the things we'd notice if it didn't.

01

Evidence over guesswork

We use treatments with strong research backing — CBT, DBT, exposure therapy, and more — matched to each condition. If the data isn't there, we say so.

02

Honesty over polish

Real outcomes, honestly communicated. We don't oversell what therapy can do, and we don't hide the uncertainty that comes with it.

03

Education is part of recovery

Understanding your diagnosis isn't optional reading — it's part of getting better. We invest in helping you make sense of what's happening, and why.

04

Transparency by default

Treatment menus, approaches, and expectations are published openly before you ever book. You should know what you're walking into.

05

No jargon, no judgment

Mental health language gets in the way more often than it helps. We translate, we slow down, and we don't moralize about why you're here.

06

Built for this community

Gainesville isn't a test market. It's home. The clinic is sized, staffed, and priced for the people who actually live here.

If I wouldn't recommend it to someone I love, we don't offer it here.

Matt Michaels, Ph.D.

A clear approach, start to finish.

Therapy works best when both sides know the plan. Our model is built around four commitments — small things that, together, change the experience of getting care.

  • Match the protocol to the condition CBT for anxiety, exposure for OCD, DBT for emotion regulation. We pick what the evidence supports — not what's easiest to bill.
  • Publish the menu upfront You can read about every treatment we offer before your first visit, in plain language.
  • Measure what's actually changing Standardized assessments at intake and through care, shared with you, so progress isn't a guess.
  • Refer out when we're not the fit Some conditions need a different level of care. We'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
